Welcome friend,
Avant Garde
Melanie has just begun a new series of works titled 'Avant Garde' which features whimsical portraits of the divine feminine in luscious costume and stunning cioffs.
The first of the series, "Twister", has been selected as part of an annual group show titled "Everything But The Kitchen Sink" at Hollywood's famous La Luz De Jesus Gallery where artist's like Mark Ryden and Shag got their start.
Butterfly Goddess
In 2007 during a Via Colori promotional event at the Houston Museum of Natural History, Miss Stimmell created a 4 x 6 foot street painting, on canvas, based on a vintage postcard, and donated it to The Center for their Via Colori Silent Auction. Melanie's Butterfly Winged Goddess was won by a generous friend of The Center's for $1,000. It now hangs in their lobby.
To purchase Melanie's newest "Butterfly Goddess" please contact Vicki Prentice Associates Inc.
Artist in Residence
Stimmell has had the special honor of being chosen as the Artist Speaker for an intimate evening of fine dining and conversation for an Artist in Residence Dinner Series at the exclusive Lon's at the Hermosa Inn in Scottsdale Arizona this May. The Dinner Series has a high profile history showcasing critically acclaimed artists such as actress, author, and watercolorist, Jane Seymour. The dinner will proceed Melanie's work with Scottsdale's Via Colori festival next fall when she will create an original 12 x 12 work for the inaugural festival.
