Seeking Space for Street Painting Academy
Melanie's 'Street Painting Academy
' is seeking a large outdoor space, in Los Angeles or Orange County, for their 2010 Street Painting Summer Camp. Open to Children and Young adults, the Street Painting Academy Summer Camp will offer a series of workshops, specially designed by the master street painter, to teach the art of this 400 year old Italian tradition.
The Street Painting Academy now offers Art Parties. Perfect for Birthdays, Holidays, or any Celebration, our Street Painting Party can be hours of fun for children and adults while leaving a beautiful mosaic of color and imagery for you to enjoy. Share your theme with us and we will create a series of activities just for you.
Our parties include hands on instruction, painting supplies, and professional artist to help bring your images to life. Our Street Painting Party can accommodate almost any size group and any location where asphalt, brick, or cement are available.

Welcome friend, Santa Barbara Street Painting
Santa Barbara's I Madonnari festival had another great year, even after the fires. Melanie Created a 12 x 12 street painting titled "The Butterfly Fairy." The original is a Sophie Anderson piece from the 1800's.
La Jolla Festival of the Arts
This year's La Jolla Festival of the Arts will feature "Calle Color" street painting avenue. Melanie will be recreating an image by Pompeo Batoni titled "Diana and Cupid". The festival is open to the public.
$10 admission.

The Sistine Chapel Ceiling on the Streets of London.
Melanie Stimmell is the artistic director for a monumental project in London, Canada this August. She will lead a team of 9 artist in recreating the central panels of the Sistine Chapel Ceiling on the asphalt for the Expressions in Chalk Street Painting Festival
. The street painting will take up over 1600 square feet at 18 x 92 feet, and will illustrate the most recognizable scenes from Michelangelos Vatican masterpiece. The original was begun in 1508 and was not complete until 1512. London's team of 9, lead by Melanie, will complete it in 6 days, with the finish ready for viewing on Sunday, August 2nd. The team will include 2 other international artists from California, Genna Panzarella & Lysa Ashley, and 6 local London artists.
Melanie will also be creating a fine art piece for the event to Auction off. The proceeds will go to supporting the arts in downtown London.

. Melanie will be part of an impressive group of featured artists including Julie Kirk, & Julian Beaver, made famous by those 3D street paintings that everyone has seen via email. Melanie is designing an original piece with a vintage flair for the Celebrate America theme.

Vessels of the Avant Garde
Melanie Stimmell Van Latum is proud to announce her next Solo Show "Vessels of the Avant Garde" featuring 12 new paintings. The opening show will be very special as Melanie is creating a very special additional painting for silent auction. Melanie will donate 100% of the proceeds from the auction to her favorite animal charity.
